The North Fault is where veins containing crystals are located and where our proposed precipitation sequence was confirmed using SEM/EDS analyses.
Sequence:
1) Botryoidal Fe-oxide
2) Mixture of Fe, Mn, Ba, and Si
3) Ba rich Mn-oxide
4) Ba Mn-oxide
5) Pure Mn-oxide
Below you will find slideshows showing petrographic images, SEM images, and He data acquired from samples from this location along with descriptions.

Petrography

Petrographic images were taken using Leica MZ16 stereo zoom microscopes.
SemSEM images were taken using a Hitachi 3400N SEM from the Arizona Laserchron Center. Scale bars not included in images.

He DataPreliminary data from samples 14VGCP10 and 13PRCP8. Ages for Fe-oxides tend to be older than those of Mn-oxides which would indicate they precipitated first (if the ages represent formation ages) but Mn-oxides have more scatter in their ages.
